FLEXHOME™ and its parent, FLEXSYSTEMS™ hold a United States patent for a unique building construction system, using a tensioned support system. This patent has thirteen claims.
FLEXYSTEMS™/FLEXHOME™ buildings are versatile. Aside from the obvious advantages of rapid construction with little skilled labor, the FLEXYSTEMS™ system of construction has many other advantages.
|
- It is less expensive than most forms of construction.
- The material used for construction is readily transportable.
- The results are esthetically pleasing and adaptable to different styles.
- The finished structure can be simple and temporary or more complex and
permanent.
- The foundations are of several patented types that can be used in a
variety of environments.
- Because of the tensioned nature of the construction, and the
flexibility of the materials used, the structures may be designed for use in earthquake zones or high wind environments.
- Foundations are varied and can be adapted to a particular site or
building conditions. The FLEXYSTEMS™ patent has several structural foundation designs, some simple, for most situations, and some more complex for use where added stability is required.
- FLEXYSTEMS™ buildings are expandable and can be made for a variety of purposes, including, homes, offices, malls, multiple floor buildings, temporary buildings, coverings for existing buildings, trailers and/or manufactured homes, etc.
- When temporary buildings are desired, the simplicity of the FLEXYSTEMS™ design allows for a compact storage of the components.
- They may be used to expand existing conventionally constructed buildings.
- Foundations are simple to install and unique in design.
- They may be constructed of a variety of materials, including cloth, stucco, cable, rope, grass, mud, plastic, aluminum, fiberglass, etc.
